Positive: The property is situated in an area of natural beauty with some good hiking trails and panoramic views. It is also extremely quiet.

Negative: The hamlet of Porta is a good 30 minutes walk uphill from Brissago which was not made clear in the ad. There are no facilities ie. shop, cafe etc., no view from the property and we were very disappointed by the terrace and the dilapidated state of the buildings around it (we felt we could not use it). The bathroom and bedrooms had been renovated but the downstairs living space was cramped and not comfortable.

Summary: This property did not meet our expectations.

Positive: Located in an authentic village with historical atmosphere

Negative: Was very hot, no air conditioner, long walk up the narrow alleys and cobblestone steps. Was very challenging for an elderly member of our family and the kids. Also, to move the luggage. Also, the bedrooms are split between 3 levels and you need to climb up and down the narrow staircase to move between them

Summary: Is ok but I wouldn’t go back
